The Hydraulic Basin Agency of Sakia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab, in collaboration with the International Association of Hydrogeologists, is organizing the fourth session of the international conference “GIRE3D,” titled: “Participatory and Integrated Water Resources Management in Dry Areas,” from November 23 to 25, 2023, at the Congress Palace in Laayoune.

This conference will provide an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and expertise among various local and international specialists in the field of water. It also aims to assist researchers in the doctoral field from various universities in the Kingdom, as well as water sector specialists, in publishing their scientific articles in journals.

The organization of this conference will focus on arid areas and their limited water potential, as sustainable water resource management in these areas poses a continuous challenge due to increasing demand associated with population growth in light of the negative effects of climate change.

The 2023 edition will also serve as an opportunity for those working in the water sector to exchange methodologies related to water exploitation and management. This edition aims to encourage scientific research and consultation with water sector specialists, as well as the creation of a platform for exchange among different national and international researchers on the issue of water in dry zones.
